On March 25th 2017, the NSS unit of St. Mary's College Panathady has made a historical event. They traveled through the mountain region of the district of Kasaragod especially where the poor and marginalized people live. They made a one day awerness programme among them about the the dengue fever and how it is being transmitted. Programme started at 10.00 a.m. About 48 students together with their staff participated in the programme. they were devided in to different groups and walked through ward number 8th of Panathady Gramapanchayath. The slogan of the journy was to 'find out the source of mostuitos'. The inauguration took place at Primary Health Centre Panathur. Mr. Udayakumar the Junior Health Inspector gave the instruction and how to proceed. The volunteers were given were given bleeching powder packets to keep in the water to clean.
